Before you install

Confirm the control panel protocol (XP95, Discovery or CoreProtocol). Mix only devices approved for that protocol on the same loop. Power down or isolate loops per site procedure before terminating devices.

Bases and detectors

Fit the correct Apollo base first (standard, isolator, sounder base). Seat the detector head with a firm clockwise twist until the bayonet locks. Address detectors with an Apollo XPERT card or programming tool as required by the range.

Sounders and VADs

Match base sounders / VADs to the detector range and loop design. Set tone and volume using the device DIP switches or panel configuration. Verify EN54 coverage after commission.

Interface modules

Mount I/O and switch monitor modules in accessible locations. Observe polarity on loop and monitored circuits. Program module addresses and function groups on the panel after wiring.

Commissioning checks

Walk-test every detector and MCP. Confirm isolator zones, cause-and-effect, and battery autonomy. Keep device addresses and loop drawings with the BS 5839 logbook.
