Panel mounting

Mount C-TEC control equipment on a flat, non-combustible surface at a serviceable height. Allow ventilation clearance and cable entry as per the datasheet. Bond earth to the chassis stud.

Loop and zone wiring

Use fire-resistant cable sized for voltage drop. Observe screened cable recommendations. Terminate end-of-line devices on conventional zones; set addresses on addressable devices before power-up where required.

Call points and sounders

Install MCPs at exits and escape routes per BS 5839. Fit protective covers where required. Set sounder tone codes to match the site strategy before final test.

Programming

Use the manufacturer programming tool or panel menu to set cause-and-effect, delays and disablements. Export or photograph config after changes for the site file.

Battery & PSU

Fit batteries of the correct capacity and polarity. Label install date. Measure float voltage after 24 hours charge and record in the logbook.
