A workplace FRA should drive the rest. Buying devices first and assessing later is how sites end up with the wrong category of alarm or lighting that does not cover the escape.
The usual maintenance set
- ✓ Fire alarm servicing on a BS 5839-informed interval
- ✓ Emergency lighting tests — monthly function, annual duration
- ✓ Fire door condition on escape routes
- ✓ Extinguishers if the FRA still wants them
Logbooks beat memory
Insurers and enforcing officers ask for records. A shared spreadsheet is better than “the previous FM knew”. We issue visit records for the work we do; we do not invent a branded accreditation plaque.

Usually yes after we see the panel, cause-and-effect and the last service record. Unknown kit is why we do not publish a one-line price.
