Mixed-use schemes in Lancashire put shops under flats. The smoke control has to match that stack, including sites around Colne. See also Nelson (2.1 miles), Brierfield (3.5 miles), Barnoldswick (4.2 miles).

The usual buildings are residential stairs, offices over a podium, schools, hotels and older commercial cores. Closest other towns on this list: Nelson (2.1 miles), Brierfield (3.5 miles), Barnoldswick (4.2 miles).

Panel, actuator, vent and interface are quoted as separate lines when Colne only needs one of them. Full replacements are quoted when the system cannot be kept.

There is no single AOV house brand on this page. SE Controls, Nuaire, Brooks, Geze, D+H, Colt, TROX and the others below are all in scope. The survey says which one is installed.

Replacement actuators have to suit the vent size and the reveal. A like-for-like guess from a photo is how shafts get the wrong stroke.

Cause-and-effect with the fire alarm is tested on the day, including what happens if the signal clears. We do not leave a stair vent that only works from a key switch nobody can find.

Colne smoke control is logged as a test, not as a promise that the window opens. Neighbours used for internal links: Nelson (2.1 miles), Brierfield (3.5 miles), Barnoldswick (4.2 miles). POA means the survey comes before the price. Weekly bell tests are not accepted as the AOV test.
