The scheme manager, or an off-site centre, needs to hear the flat and release the door. That is a speech module, a pendant or pull cord, and a door-release contact. It is not an overdoor lamp outside a care-home bedroom, and it is not a hospital staff station. We survey the scheme office, a sample flat, the entrance panel and the place the pendant is supposed to reach — bathroom included, because that is where people fall. Radio pendants need a walk from the flat to the lift and down to the entrance, not a tick in the lounge.
