How a Carpentry visit runs
Work is arranged from Stockport. The quote for Carpentry is price on application. The visit is carried out by people qualified for that trade.
- 1. The building. Send the address, what Carpentry has to cover, and whether the site is occupied.
- 2. The scope. iComply confirms the visit in writing. This page does not publish a price for that visit.
- 3. The attendance. Access and occupation in the town decide the appointment. Travel is part of the POA quote.
- 4. The record. Certificates, test sheets or reports go to the instructing client.
Expert Carpentry across the North West
Carpentry covers first and second fix: timber stud walls, noggins, skirting, architrave, door casings and the site carpentry around other trades. Metal-stud partitions are dry lining. This page is the timber and second-fix work.
Each Greater Manchester borough already on this site, and the towns listed with them, has its own Carpentry page. Visits are arranged from Offerton, Stockport, SK2. Stud walls in a Bolton flat and skirting in a Bramhall house are both site carpentry, quoted from the drawings or the void.
Quotes are price on application (POA) after the drawings or the rooms are seen. This page does not publish a fee, a review or an accreditation.
The visit is carried out by people qualified for the trade on the page. A specialist ticket, where the building needs one, is named in the written scope.
First fix
Studs, noggins and grounds go in before the finish trades.
Second fix
Skirting, architrave and hanging internal doors follow the floors.
POA
No linear-metre rate is published.
Stud walls and skirting
A stud wall quote says where it runs, whether it is timber, and what it has to carry. Skirting and architrave are measured to the rooms after the floor finish is known, because the height changes.
The existing guides for stud wall construction and skirting boards are still on the site. Those keyword pages link the same Greater Manchester towns.

What clients say
Landlords, agents and facilities teams across the North West on compliance, certification and install work.
★★★★★“Needed EICR certificates across a small rental portfolio before a new tenancy. The engineer was on time, explained the remedial work clearly and the paperwork arrived after the visit. Exactly what a landlord needs.”
★★★★★“We had a BS 5839 fire alarm service due on a multi-let block in Manchester. iComply booked us in within the week, flagged a few panel issues early and left us with clean certification for the freeholder.”
★★★★★“Gas safety (CP12) and emergency lighting testing done on the same visit for our agency stock. Fixed-price quote, no surprises, and reports that our insurers actually accept without chasing.”
★★★★★“CCTV and door entry upgrade for a warehouse near Warrington. Clear scope, tidy install and the team talked us through the app access for remote viewing. Would use again for the next site.”
