Commercial security lighting aimed at the yard, separate from escape lights
Security lighting is the external scheme that lets cameras and staff see the yard. It is not the three-hour escape fitting inside the stair.
What this commercial job is
We survey mounting, glare onto neighbours, and whether the circuit is the landlord's or the tenant's. PIR, photocell or time control is chosen for the site, not copied from a domestic bulkhead.
If the FRA also needs emergency lighting on an external escape route, that is specified separately so the two systems are not muddled.

- ✓ Controls matched to how the site is used
- ✓ Supplies identified before cabling
- ✓ Emergency lighting kept as its own spec
Questions facilities teams ask
Will this satisfy the emergency lighting standard?
Only the fittings that are specified as emergency lighting. Floods on a PIR are not automatically escape lighting.
Do you aim cameras at the same time?
We can coordinate with the CCTV job. They are still two systems.
Can you avoid glare into flats next door?
That is part of the survey. If an aim is unacceptable we say so.
