About Automatic Opening Vent Installation
Need automatic opening vent installation that meets smoke-control and life-safety expectations? iComply design, supply and install AOV systems for apartment blocks, commercial buildings and mixed-use developments across Greater Manchester and the North West. Working to BS 9991 and EN 12101 practice, we fit roof vents, façade vents and actuators linked to smoke control panels so escape routes stay tenable when it matters.
Automatic opening vents are a core part of many natural smoke ventilation strategies. Our engineers survey shaft, stair and corridor arrangements, confirm vent sizes and free area requirements against your fire strategy, and install actuators, vents, weather controls and interfaces to the AOV panel and fire alarm cause-and-effect. Commissioning includes open/close timing, battery standby checks, manual override tests and certification-ready records. We also retrofit AOVs on existing blocks where older vents have failed or never performed correctly. Based in Stockport, iComply supports landlords, developers, main contractors and FM teams with fixed-price quotes after survey and ongoing AOV service contracts.

Automatic Opening Vent Installation FAQ
Do AOVs need to link to the fire alarm?+
Most life-safety AOVs operate from the smoke control panel with fire alarm or detection inputs defined in the cause-and-effect. We implement the strategy signed off for your building.
Can you install AOVs on occupied residential blocks?+
Yes. We plan access, weather protection and temporary measures carefully, often working roof zones in controlled phases.
What standards do you work to?+
Installations are approached under BS 9991 smoke-control practice and EN 12101 product/system expectations, with documentation for building management and insurers.
