Electrical Safety Certificate FAQ
Which certificate do landlords need?+
Private landlords in England typically need a current EICR for the fixed wiring, plus certificates for any new works carried out.
How long is a certificate valid?+
Installation certificates record work at a point in time; EICRs recommend a next inspection date. Validity for legal duties depends on the document type and regime.
Can you reissue a lost certificate?+
If we completed the original works and records remain, we can often supply a copy. Third-party historic certificates cannot be recreated from scratch.
