Fixed wire testing covers distribution boards, circuits, protective devices, earthing and bonding, and sample or full inspection of accessories depending on agreed scope and occupancy. We use calibrated instruments, isolate safely, and restore supplies methodically after tests. Commercial and multi-occupancy sites may need phased testing outside peak hours. After the visit you receive an Electrical Installation Condition Report with observations and a practical remedial quote where repairs are needed. Retests after remedials close the compliance loop. Related services include consumer unit upgrades, emergency lighting tests and landlord electrical packages. Coverage spans Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire, Merseyside and Cumbria.

Fixed Wire Testing FAQ

Is fixed wire testing the same as an EICR?+

The EICR is the report produced from inspection and testing of the fixed installation. People often use the terms together when booking compliance tests.

How often is fixed wire testing needed?+

Intervals depend on premises type, use and previous report recommendations — often 5 years for many rentals and commercial sites, sometimes more frequent for higher-risk environments.

Will power be off during testing?+

Circuits are isolated in sequence. We plan with you to reduce disruption and can work out of hours by agreement on commercial sites.

What is the EICR list price?+

The only published EICR list price is £249 for a typical 6-bed hmo in the north west (code ELEC-EICR-6BED-NW), per property, all-in. iComply is not VAT registered, so VAT is not added. Remedials and parts are quoted after the inspection and are not included. A 1-bed, any other domestic size, and every commercial EICR are price on application. We confirm it still applies to your property before you are booked.
