Where the overflow or warning pipe has no insect screen, we can fit one as a small scoped job after the inspection. On this visit we pay attention to pipe diameter and location; existing mesh or the lack of it; and whether the lid still needs attention. Fitting a screen does not clean the tank and does not replace a risk assessment. Pipe size and access are confirmed first so the mesh matches the pipe. HSE Approved Code of Practice L8 and HSG274 are the usual references. This page is not legal advice and not a medical opinion. A temperature, a flush or a sample is evidence at a point in time. It does not mean the building stays free of risk. Coverage is Greater Manchester and the wider North West from Stockport. Tell us the postcode, who uses the building, and whether hot or cold water is stored. Sampling, tank cleaning and any chemical step are separate lines when they are justified. We do not invent a laboratory badge or a per-sample price on this page.

Tank Insect Screen Fit FAQ
Is a screen a legal extra we invented?+
No. Keeping insects and debris out of stored water is basic cistern hygiene. The fit is still quoted.
Can you fit it without inspecting the tank?+
We need to see the pipe. If the lid is also open to dirt we will say so rather than only mesh the pipe.
