Commercial fire door inspection a schedule, not a single closer swap
Inspection is the scheduled look at every fire door on the list — risers, stair lobbies, plant and cross-corridor doors — written so an FM can brief a joiner.
What this commercial job is
We grade defects so a missing smoke seal is not written up the same way as a door that does not close. Photos sit against the door reference your CAFM system already uses, when you share those codes.
The visit does not include carpentry unless you add it. You leave with a schedule, not a surprise invoice for ironmongery.
On the visit
- ✓ Every listed fire door opened and checked
- ✓ Defects graded for repair priority
- ✓ References matched to your door codes where you have them
- ✓ Remedial quote only if you want one
Questions facilities teams ask
How many doors justify a formal schedule?
Any common-part or workplace set you must evidence. A pair of stair doors is still an inspection; a tower needs a schedule.
Do you inspect flat entrance doors in a commercial block?
If they are fire doors on the list and we can access them. Tenant doors need notice.
Is this the same as a fire risk assessment?
No. The FRA may tell you to inspect doors. This visit is the inspection.
