About AOV Battery Backup

Weak batteries are a leading cause of AOV faults and failed audits. We measure battery condition, replace sealed lead-acid or specified packs with correct capacity, clean terminals, verify charger operation and retest full vent movement on backup. New panels are supplied with appropriately rated standby batteries. Maintenance contracts include battery health as a standard item so replacements are planned before winter cold exposes marginal cells.

●Battery health testing under realistic vent loads
●Correct capacity replacements for AOV panels
●Charger and PSU verification
●Scheduled battery programmes on maintenance contracts

AOV Battery Backup FAQ

How long should AOV batteries last?+

Often three to five years depending on environment and quality, but testing — not calendar age alone — decides replacement.

Why did vents work on mains but not on test?+

A classic sign of failed standby batteries or charger faults; we verify both.

Do all AOV systems need batteries?+

Virtually all life-safety AOV controls require standby power so vents operate during supply failure.
