About BS 9991

BS 9991 is the key British Standard giving fire safety guidance for residential buildings, including smoke control, means of escape and related systems such as AOVs. iComply help landlords, developers and FM teams implement and maintain smoke-control measures in line with BS 9991 practice across Stockport, Greater Manchester and the North West — from vent systems to ongoing testing records.

We are not a building-control body, but our AOV and smoke-ventilation work is planned with BS 9991 principles in mind: protecting escape stairs, ensuring systems operate when called upon, and documenting maintenance. Surveys highlight gaps on existing blocks — missing manual controls, unreliable batteries, untested interfaces — and we propose practical upgrades. Pair BS 9991-aware smoke control with your fire-alarm and emergency-lighting regimes for a coherent residential life-safety package. Fixed quotes follow site-specific assessment.

  • ●BS 9991-aware smoke-control and AOV solutions
  • ●Surveys of existing residential escape-route ventilation
  • ●Install, maintain and test AOVs with proper records
  • ●Coordination with fire alarms and wider life safety
