About Carbon Monoxide Alarm Installation

Correct placement matters: CO alarms should follow product instructions relative to appliances and sleeping areas, avoiding dead-air spots and humid zones that cause nuisance faults. We install sealed battery or mains-powered units as specified, label test dates where helpful for agents, and demonstrate the test button for occupants. Portfolio landlords can standardise alarm models across properties for simpler maintenance. Combined bookings with CP12 visits reduce tenant disruption. If an alarm sounds, occupants should follow emergency advice and treat the event seriously — we can attend to check related gas appliances via Gas Safe engineers where appropriate. Coverage includes Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire, Merseyside and Cumbria.

Carbon Monoxide Alarm Installation FAQ

Are carbon monoxide alarms a legal requirement for rentals?+

UK rules require CO alarms in certain rooms with fixed combustion appliances. Requirements have expanded in recent years — we install to current expectations for your property type.

Battery or mains CO alarms?+

Both can be appropriate. Sealed long-life battery units are popular for rentals; we advise based on property and maintenance preference.

How long do CO alarms last?+

Most have a defined end-of-life date printed on the unit — often around 7–10 years. We can replace expired devices across portfolios.
