Escape routes are usually fail-safe, with a release on fire alarm and a manual device people can see. A store, a drug cupboard or a plant cage is sometimes fail-secure, and that decision sits with the responsible person, not with a default in the lock catalogue. We survey the door, the hinge side, the existing maglock or strike, and what the fire interface does today. We write the recommendation. We do not sign your fire risk assessment for you.
