About PIR Sensor Installation

We fit PIRs to new systems and as upgrades on existing panels from major manufacturers. Dual-tech sensors combine PIR with microwave for tougher commercial environments, while curtain and volumetric patterns suit corridors, offices and open-plan homes. Installation includes neat mounting, correct zone programming, walk-testing and advice on furniture, heaters and blinds that cause false alarms. From Stockport we also attend reactive call-outs for failed or flashing PIRs.

●Correct siting to cut false alarms and dead spots
●Pet-immune and dual-tech options for homes and businesses
●Compatible replacements for common panel brands
●Walk-test and zone programming included

PIR Sensor Installation FAQ

Why does my PIR keep false alarming?+

Common causes include heaters, direct sun, hanging objects, pests and incorrect sensitivity. We diagnose and re-site or replace the sensor rather than only silencing the panel.

Can PIRs work with pets?+

Pet-immune models help with cats and small dogs when mounted and set correctly. Large dogs and free-roaming pets may still need careful design or alternative detection.

Do you install outdoor PIRs?+

Yes, where suitable outdoor detectors are part of the design. Outdoor units need weather-rated devices and careful aiming to avoid neighbour movement and foliage.
