Electric Door Release

An electric door release is the lock or strike that opens when your access system or intercom authorises entry—critical hardware that must be quiet, strong and compatible with fire escape strategy. iComply fits and replaces electric releases, maglocks and related ironmongery across the North West, matching voltage, duty cycle and fail mode to each door. Neat cabling and correct power supplies prevent the buzz, drop-out and overheating faults that plague cheap installs.

About Electric Door Release

From Stockport our engineers work on timber, metal and glass doors in offices, apartments and industrial units. We interface releases with access controllers, exit buttons, emergency break-glass units and fire alarm free-exit where required. Survey-led fixed quotes cover ironmongery, labour and commissioning. If doors are slamming, not latching or remaining unlocked, we diagnose alignment as well as electrics. Pair with readers, panels and door-entry upgrades for a complete entrance package.

●Correct release type for door construction and traffic
●Fail-safe/fail-secure design aligned to fire strategy
●PSU sizing, cabling and exit device installation
●Adjustment, testing and integration with access/intercom

Electric Door Release FAQ

Why does our electric release buzz constantly?+

Often a misaligned strike, wrong voltage, failing magnet or continuous duty mismatch. We inspect mechanical and electrical causes together.

Can you fit a release to a uPVC door?+

Some uPVC doors accept electric releases; others need alternative locking or door upgrades. Survey confirms suitability.

Do electric releases need maintenance?+

Yes—check fixings, alignment, power and backup batteries periodically, especially on high-traffic or external doors.
